Kisco Senior Living is pleased to announce the upcoming topping out celebration for the high-rise addition of The Cardinal at North Hills. Since the community’s groundbreaking ceremony, construction has been a staple of life at the community, but this special event signals the start of a new beginning for life at The Cardinal. On Wednesday, May 25, current residents and associates of The Cardinal, along with future residents of the East Tower will gather together to sign their names to the building’s final steel beam and watch as is it lifted into place on the building. This event will be a true moment of connectivity for the community, as current residents, associates and representatives of Clancy & Theys Construction and THW Design will join in the festivities. The topping out signals a step closer to the 18-story, 191-unit luxury addition welcoming residents in Spring 2023.
“We’re thrilled to reach this momentous step in the evolution of our community and the services we provide our residents,” said Tom Ford, executive director of The Cardinal at North Hills. “The East Tower addition will be a distinctive addition to the community that will enable us to meet the desires of today’s seniors for years to come.”
For Cardinal residents like Bob and Nancy Goodson, the topping out is just the start of exciting milestones ahead as they prepare to move into their new home. The Goodsons moved into the existing community during the height of the pandemic, and soon realized they wanted to be part of the enhanced lifestyle offered by the tower expansion. As current residents of The Cardinal, the couple knew in making the move they could expect a continued sense of community and high-quality service offered by the community, but at an entirely new level.
“Throughout construction we’ve sat on our balcony and watched as the tower has risen, and it’s just incredible that it’s becoming even more real,” said Bob. “We could not be more excited for all the possibilities ahead and how this addition will continue to solidify The Cardinal as a staple in the North Hills community. The Cardinal is not just your everyday senior living community, it is a place where you can experience life and find a sense of community that’s almost impossible to describe if you’re not here. This is a place filled with independence and a very nice quality of life – you cannot get bored here, there’s always something to do and that’s what makes this place truly home.”
The addition will enhance The Cardinal’s ability to provide residents with convenient access to high-quality amenities, five-star hospitality and a full continuum of health care services if the need arises. Complete with its own unique amenities that complement those on the existing campus, including a beautiful dining room, bar and lounge area, along with casual outdoor seating in the courtyard and green space for alfresco dining. With the inclusion of 151 independent living and 40 assisted living apartments, residents will have the ability to choose between several one-, two-and three-bedroom floor plans, including club level and penthouse options.
In addition to the high-quality service and amenities provided by The Cardinal, including chef-prepared meals, award-winning wellness programs and concierge services, residents are only steps away from an abundance of shopping, restaurant and entertainment options, including the $1 billion multiphase North Hills Innovation District being developed by Kane Realty.
“At The Cardinal we are dedicated to providing our residents with a home that meets their unique needs, and the East Tower addition is the perfect example of how we are looking ahead,” said Ford. “Through this process we have had incredible partners in making the East Tower a reality, and this celebration is a testament to their efforts. We look forward to this exciting occasion and providing our future residents a taste of life at The Cardinal.”
