Can my loved one receive the proper care in their home, or would it be best to live in an assisted living environment? This is a question many adult children and seniors will ask themselves as they, or a loved one is aging. This question is especially relevant during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Seniors are being asked to remain home because they are an especially vulnerable population. While remaining home or receiving in-home care may be an option for some, for others, living at home is simply unsafe. During this uncertain time, Sagewood at Daybreak continues to monitor conditions and adjust operations as necessary with the health and safety of our residents and associates at the forefront of everything we do. If you are considering making a move to senior living, it may be safer now, than ever before.
Sagewood at Daybreak has experienced zero positive cases of COVID-19. We pride ourselves on allowing our residents to remain as independent as possible, for as long as possible, without compromising their safety. While day-to-day life at Sagewood has changed slightly, our residents share with us how thankful they are to live in a community that puts their safety and well-being first.
When determining whether senior living or home care is the best choice, you should ask yourself some of the following questions. Can you or your loved one go to the grocery store or pharmacy for basic nutritional and medical needs? Is your loved one becoming isolated at home because of the “shelter in place” order? Are basic activities of daily living becoming more difficult? Are you or your loved one experiencing an increased number of falls? Are medications being managed safely and effectively? If you answered “no” to one or more of these questions, senior living may be a better option.
Sagewood at Daybreak offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Our goal is to allow our residents to age in place while their needs change over time. Let’s take a look at each option.
Independent Living is maintenance-free, apartment-style living for older adults who require little to no assistance with activities of daily living. At Sagewood, we offer state-of-the-art fitness programs, all-day dining hours with two unique venues, and a robust activities calendar, providing the opportunity for seniors to engage with their peers and participate in community events. Sagewood also offers aquarobics classes in our pool and an on-site spa and beauty salon.
Assisted Living is available as residents’ physical and emotional needs change over time. At Sagewood, we offer additional levels of care to accommodate individual residents’ needs and preferences. We offer 24-hour care and assistance while providing stimulating activities, exercise classes, meals, and weekly housekeeping. Sagewood’s programming is carefully designed to promote the independence, dignity, and individuality of each resident.
Memory Care is available for residents who are experiencing Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other forms of memory loss. Our Connections neighborhood offers enhanced services and programming tailored toward residents who require more personalized attention. Our programming is designed to help residents maintain cognitive abilities while allowing them to enjoy their passions and hobbies.
