Welcome to another edition of the Magnolia Glen Connection. This week we say goodbye to Spring and prepare to usher in Summer. Masks? We got ‘em. Social distancing? Check. Venturing out of our apartments and into the great outdoors? You betcha! We hope you enjoy this digital update – from our community to your home. As always, feel free to contact us with story ideas or suggestions. Enjoy!
AT YOUR SERVICE
For months now, Magnolia Glen’s customer service team has been hard at work keeping things moving and running smoothly at the front desk. Our Customer Service Reps (CSR’s) answer the phones, keep track of packages and help deliver groceries – doing it all with a smile. COVID-19 has changed the way our front desk folks work, but it hasn’t stopped them from multi-tasking every day with a smile. They’re the ones responsible for monitoring temperatures of incoming guests and associates, answering questions from residents and family members, and keeping the sundry store stocked. If you think of it, say thanks the next time you talk to one of our CSR’s – we couldn’t keep the doors open without them!
DAY TRIPPIN’
We gassed up the bus and took our residents for a ride earlier this week – our first outing in months. Independent Living residents enjoyed a ride around Raleigh.
We kept our distance, wore our masks and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather. Safe to say, all of us are suffering a bit with cabin fever. So, residents certainly relished an opportunity to hit the open road. I guess you could call it a Sunday drive – on a weekday.
BROADCAST NEWS
A new show has hit the airwaves at Magnolia Glen – Magnolia Glen Daily Line Up. Each weekday morning, Patty Hart hosts a program that airs on MGTV Channel 1340. Our residents catch the latest weather, get updated on menus and wellness programs, even play a little trivia. Resident birthdays are announced and new residents are welcomed. Throw in a few jokes and light banter with a guest or two, and you’ve got Raleigh’s newest morning show. It’s just another way our Wellness Team is embracing technology to keep our residents engaged and informed during the COVID pandemic. If you see Patty, ask for her autograph!
