Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Byron Park,
This letter is to update you about the previously reported gas leak on 2/24.
As a reminder, during our weekly preventative pool maintenance service, the vendor reported a gas odor. Access to the pool area and courtyard were immediately suspended and PG&E came out to assess. The assessment revealed an underground gas leak near the pool heater. The primary leak was identified on 2/24 and completely repaired by 2/25.
During a secondary assessment from PG&E on 2/25 we identified an additional underground leak. To mitigate a prolonged building shut off, a new gas shut off valve was installed this morning 2/26. This new valve allows for the affected area to be cut off from the main gas line. Unfortunately, the branch of PG&E that works for commercial properties is closed on the weekends and was inundated on Monday. Gratefully a PG&E team member arrived today and turned back on the main gas line to the community. This has restored all services.
Out of an abundance of concern and caution the main courtyard and pool remain closed until the secondary repair is completed. Construction for the pool area repair begins on 3/2/22. Due to the significant impact to the community we will not be adhering to our standard construction etiquette and schedule. There may be loud work completed as early as 7:00am and as late as 7:30pm from 3/2 to 3/9.
Our dining menu and service remains slightly modified again today as we adjust our operations to our previous standards. With quality and service in mind we have moved our Mardi Gras dinner event from today 3/1 until tomorrow 3/2. We look forward to celebrating the return of our services with this incredible New Orleans inspired menu tomorrow. A copy of the menu is below.
If you have specific questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly on my cell phone which is listed below. A copy of this notice will be distributed this evening to all residents.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Pastora, Executive Director
